Please join us Saturday, May 2, at 12pm (noon) for our Beltaine Festival! (Note date change from May 1). Beltaine (Beltane, May Day, or Calendimaggio) is the Pagan Holiday of Mid-Spring. This grand festival of spring which is celebrated world-wide acknowledges the bloom of spring, observes the courtship and union of Pagan Deities, and honors all that lives!
Celebrate the joy of nature in this wonderful ritual including the dance around the May Pole. Colorful clothes and comfortable shoes are suggested.
As part of the ritual we ask that participants bring a small, comfortable face mask (covering full or partial face), and bring a small bouquet of flowers for the offering. If you would rather purchase a mask than make one, Hobby Lobby has masks for $2-$3. Feel free to decorate or embelish your mask!
As usual, we also ask everyone to bring a lawn chair and a dish for the feast following the ritual. We'll provide table service and drinks.
Children are welcome providing they can appreciate the ritual.
To help offset the cost of the ritual we're asking for a $10 Love Offering.
Traditional Foods are dishes consisting of: Apricots, Asparagus, Banana, Blueberries, Broccoli, Cantaloupe, Carrots, Cherries, Dairy, Fennel, Figs, Fruit Wines, Lamb, Pineapples, Radishes, Rhubarb, Sorrel, Spinach, Spring onions, Sugar snap peas, Swiss chard, and Watercress.
Note: Dishes such as spaghetti with marinara sauce are fine. Most Beltane dishes are vegetarian or vegan dishes.
