The "butters" used in Sadie's Magick Mojo are expeller pressed and unrefined, meaning they are left in their most natural state, retaining all of their medicinal properties. Alone, they each are a very effective natural remedy for many skin conditions. Unsurpassed at moisturizing, conditioning and healing the skin, the following ingredients are used in our herbal healing salve:
SHEA BUTTER:
Unfrefined vegetable fat from the Karite tree, Shea Butter has an abundance of healing ingredients including vitamins, minerals, and a unique fatty acid profile and is a superior active moisturizer. Unlike petroleum based moisturizers, Shea Butter actually restores the skin's natural elasticity. In addition, Shea Butter has natural sunscreen properties and anti-inflammatory agents. Shea Butter is helpful in easing pain from sprains and arthritis, and has been shown to help with skin conditions such as extreme dryness, eczema, dermatitis, skin allergies, fungal infections, blemishes, wrinkles, stretch marks, scars, scrapes, dry skin and more.
KOKUM BUTTER:
Kokum butter is obtained from the fruit of the Garcinia indica tree grown in India. Kokum butter has excellent moisturizing properties and melts on contact with the skin, helping to prevent dryness. It's emollient properties are helpful in the treatment of burns, scalds, and chaffing. Also said to help reduce the development of wrinkles. Kokum butter reduces degneration of skin cells, supports elasticity and restores flexibility to the skin. Kokum butter is absorbed very quickly into the skin and does not leave a greasy feeling

BEESWAX:
In order to 'thicken' our oils to a 'salve' consistancy, we add pure, unrefined, unbleached beeswax secreted by worker bees. Clean, unfiltered with a natural golden brown color. No petroleum and no additives.
VITAMIN E:
Vitamin E is one of the most powerful anti-aging and anti-oxidant elements ever known. As a free radical neutralizer, Vitamin E helps to preserve the health and integrity of the skin, heal cuts, abrasions and post-surgical scar tissue, provide defense against bacterial infection, promote cellular oxygenation, promote and insulate skin against premature signs of aging. Vitamin E also is used as a preservative in Sadie's Magick Mojo.
LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL:
Used for its medicinal values (Refresh my memory), ... and to make the salve smell pretty! =)
